About Mosaic Blue

Removing the (dis) from disABILITY
Mosaic Blue is a Las Vegas–based (501c3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals with special needs through music, dance, and the performing arts. Our mission is simple, to remove the (dis) from disABILITY and create a space where every person can shine, express themselves, and feel celebrated for who they are.
It’s a sanctuary for self-discovery through various creative art forms. Mosaic Blue is not just a business name. It truly comes from the heart. Imagine a beautiful mosaic, a combination of diverse & abstract pieces coming together to create a stunning masterpiece. That’s who we are, a collective of unique individuals, each bringing our distinct colors and textures to the canvas of life. Blue represents the sky and the sea. Symbolic of infinite possibilities, serenity and patience.

Tshlene Henreid
Founder & Executive Director
Mosaic Blue is more than a performing arts program, it’s a movement that celebrates creativity, courage, and limitless potential in individuals with special needs. Founded by Tshlene Henreid, a professional dancer, choreographer, and producer, Mosaic Blue exists to transform lives through the arts by giving every performer, regardless of ability, the stage, spotlight, and confidence they deserve.

Born in Oakland, California, and raised in Tacoma, Washington, Tshlene Henreid’s life has always been guided by rhythm, resilience, and purpose. Her journey began with a passion for dance that carried her to the prestigious Cornish Institute of Allied Arts in Seattle, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. Her remarkable talent soon led her to the national stage, from lighting up Soul Train as a spotlight dancer to gracing the pages of Jet Magazine and appearing in major productions like Harlem Nights and Robert Townsend’s HBO Special.

But in 1988, at the height of her career, Tshlene faced a life-altering diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, a moment that could have dimmed her light. Instead, she chose to shine even brighter. Fueled by faith and determination, she founded Color Me Bright, a SAG-franchised talent agency in Beverly Hills dedicated to empowering performers of color.

In 2007, Tshlene relocated to Las Vegas, where she discovered her true calling, using her artistic gifts to uplift the special needs community. She began teaching, mentoring, and producing stage productions that gave children and young adults with disabilities the confidence to dream, perform, and express themselves freely.

Today, as the Founder and Executive Director of Mosaic Blue, Tshlene’s mission is simple yet profound, to remove the (dis) from disABILITY through creativity, compassion, and community.

At Mosaic Blue, we believe every individual has a unique light, and when we bring those lights together, we create a masterpiece.
